SO Haunting Astoria has demons, protodaemons, angels, and creatures that evolved in purgatory. Purgatory is essentially God's garbage bin. Anything he didnt want to keep, he threw in there.

Kalazan is a protodaemon who hides on earth as a priest. In reality, he runs a cult that worships 'old gods' IE him. He brings out creatures from purgatory that can help him make money.

These creatures are one with shadows and they lay eggs inside their sexual partners. Humans have a rather unique chemical reaction to their eggs in which the eggs harden and turn into geodes. The kinds of crystals inside the geode eggs vary from person to person.

Some of the followers of Kalazan's church offer to help him makes money and volunteer but others....are volunteered without choice.
