girlfuckr: If you mean the barrel magazine in it those are used with all types of guns, most notoriously however with the Thompson machine gun (or "Tommy Gun").

zack: to me, it looks like the MG 42 a la WW2 it carries a chain or belt of ammo and there was a variety of containers that operators could load it into including a drum-like one,
wood furniture fits the profile and considering how far back the butt is it seems like a solid match.

the barrel seems fairly square with rounded edges and its not Impossible to retrofit it with rails to mount a scope.

get down to it it has plenty of Dakka but the length of the gun makes it REALLY impractical for close quarters and thus REALLY impractical for fighting tentacle monsters, may as well have carried a cardboard sign that read "come and fuck me please"
