Turns out that Japan censored pornography long before WWII, and their legal system found a way to keep that censorship even with their new constitution's freedom of speech & expression guarantee. It may be true that some American occupiers in the government made sure this happened, but it is NOT at all true that America forced these laws on Japan. They already existed.
